MKDC Baseball · About

Build Knowledge.
Tell the Truth.

MKDC Baseball is written and run by Mitch, one person with a model and a rule that nothing gets deleted. The whole site exists to help baseball fans understand the game a little better than they did yesterday.

It does that two ways. The model publishes forecasts for when minor league prospects will reach the majors, each one locked before the outcome is known and graded in public when its window closes, misses included and explained. The rest of the site teaches: how the metrics work, how service time quietly decides careers, and why the numbers say what they say. You can check the scoreboard yourself on the record, which is the point.

Before anything publishes here, it has to pass five questions: is it true, is it useful, is it original or thoughtfully synthesized, will it still matter in six months, and would I be proud if my kids read it years from now. When a growth trick and one of those questions point in different directions, the question wins.

If you are new, start with the leaderboard, the plain-English methodology, or the free metrics cheat sheet. If you find a number that looks wrong, say so, because corrections get made here in the open and the site is better for every one of them.
